Christian Battle Songs

6.  “Let Me Feel You Shine” by David Crowder Band

It’s hard for me to say what my favorite Crowder song is, since he has been my favorite Christian artist for over 10 years. However, this song has to be in my top 5 all time favorites. It captures how I have felt so many times in my life, grasping at God, begging for him to shine his presence in the darkness I faced.

My two favorite verses are:

“This place is trying to break my belief
But my faith is bigger than all I can see
What I need is redemption
What I need is for You for to put me back on my feet

What I need is for You to be the thing that I need”

“If I could feel You shine Your perpetual light
Then maybe I could crawl out of this tonight”

These lyrics have deep meaning for me and have helped me through some tough times. My hope is that it helps you too!

7. Broken Things by Matthew West

I love this song because it helps remind us all that God can and will use anyone to fulfill His mission. Your pain or even your past can be redeemed through the power and purpose of God.

“Now I’m just a beggar in the presence of a King
I wish I could bring so much more
But if it’s true You use broken things
Then here I am Lord, I’m all Yours”

8.  “Even If” by MercyMe

This song is a great reminder of the tightrope of our desires we bring before God.

“I know You’re able and I know You can
Save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don’t
My hope is You alone”

The refrain sums up the tension we must traverse, knowing that God can change anything, including heal, but even if He doesn’t, our challenge is to remain faithful and trust.

9.  “Home” by Chris Tomlin

The world we live in is harsh and cruel because it is not where we were meant to live. We were meant to live in perfection with God. Tomlin captures that in this song and helps us all to turn our eyes to the future, where no death, hurt or decay will happen.

10.  “How Can It Be” by Lauren Daigle

Such beauty is this song, it helps us simply worship who Jesus is and what He does for all who will follow him. As you find yourself in battle, remember who is on your side!

“You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be
How can it be”
