20 Bible Verses About Money Problems
1.
Matthew 6:31-32 NIV
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
Reflection
It is so common to look at our necessities in life and worry how we will obtain the things we need, especially when funds are tight. Have faith that God is our good Parent and is providing for you as you read this right now. Trust that He is in control.
2.
Ecclesiastes 7:12 NIV
Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves those who have it.
Reflection
Wisdom always is more valuable than money, for true wisdom brings security and trust in the Lord. Nothing can replace that, for God is the provider of all of our needs. We must seek Him over and over and depend deeply on Him. This is the essence of wisdom.
3.
Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Reflection
When we are faced with trials and hardships it is easy to forget that God is with us always. What is particularly interesting about this Scripture is that not only does God walk with us, but He goes before us. He is in the future working things together for your good. Trust in Him; He is good and works all things together for your betterment.
4.
Romans 13:8 NIV
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
Reflection
It’s easy to think of our finances as disconnected from other areas in our lives, especially who and what we love. But we spend money on the things that are the most important to us. If we can shift our thinking from concern about what we need to pay for, and instead focus on what we love, then many of the issues that surround money problems will begin to come into focus.
5.
Psalm 16:8 NIV
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Reflection
Keeping your eyes fixed on God is exactly how Jesus lived while He was on this earth. It is a model for a successful lifestyle, one filled with joy and peace. Understanding that God is with you always helps you to be fearless and can face anything, even in your financial woes.
