Welcome to day 3 in the 15 day Be The Light Challenge. Please read all the materials and when your done reading I have a downloadable worksheet for you to process the materials. You will find that sheet at the bottom of the post, but please read the material presented in this post as its very important for the challenge.

So how did the Positivity Challenge of Day 2 go for you? Did you notice anything different? Was it challenging or did it come more naturally?

For the past two days, I’ve asked you to focus on being positive, and recognize good in difficulties. I hope you’ve been able to see that God is at always at work in your life. This leads us to today’s challenge, which will ask you to internally reflect on God’s comfort in your life.

Today’s challenge is framed around the powerful and true verse of 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Do you know your hardships can be used for God’s glory? Do you realize that 2020 can lead to some amazing and mighty things? Are you aware of how the Lord transforms our pain and suffering by strengthening us and equipping us for the road we are on?

And do you know that the comfort the Lord gives you is purposeful beyond your own experience?

See, when we receive goodness from the Lord it’s not just for ourselves alone. Rather, God provides goodness in our lives both to bless us and to enable us to turn it around and give back to the world. This is what the Be The Light Challenge is all about! It’s about pouring out all God does for you into the world. In doing so, we heed Paul’s words in our Scripture for today, and become a person that shares God’s comfort in the world in the same way God has comforted you.

How has God comforted you this past year? How has God shown up and encouraged you, strengthened you, equipped you? If it is hard for you to see this from the past year during this pandemic, then how has God worked through trials in your life in the past?

Working through these questions will only help you for tomorrow’s Be The Light external challenge.

Take your time and soulfully reflect with the Lord on these questions and to do so I made you a worksheet, you can download it by clicking the button below.
