Welcome to Day 10 of the Be The Light Challenge! I hope you’ve been following this series of unique, Christmas-themed Challenges, all centered around helping us to better understand and live out what it means to represent Christ’s light in the world. For access to all of the days of this Challenge, be sure to check out this page for more information.

Today’s Challenge is a fun one!

Your Challenge today is to explore your neighborhood and prayerfully look at the Christmas lights and decorations.

However, this isn’t just a sight-seeing adventure…as you drive or walk, intentionally seek out God’s presence and ask Him to help you center on Christ as the light in the darkness.

Of course, there is all kinds of Christmas lights and decorations that you’ll encounter in such an adventure, many of which will not have anything specifically to do with Jesus. But we’re called to be a witness to the true light.

So as you explore, whether driving home from work or shopping, or taking a stroll through your neighborhood, pray for community and the homes within it. Pray for your neighbors, greet the ones that you can talk to, and spend some time quietly representing the light of Jesus among your neighbors.

Your prayers matter more than you could ever imagine or even realize. Although few will even know it, your prayer for the community matters and makes a difference. So enter into this challenge ready to both find beautiful displays of lights and ready to engage in meaningful conversation and prayer with God.

Ask God to help you better understand what your role in this community looks like. Seek His guidance in better understanding the impact you can make and the light you share within it.

I hope you have fun doing this Challenge, and that you spend some quality time with God on your light-seeking adventure!

That’s all for now! We’re more than halfway through this Challenge, so I hope you’re feeling inspired and ready to finish the final week strong!
