Bible Verses About Babies
16.
You, beloved, are worth so much more than a whole flock of sparrows. God knows everything about you, even the number of hairs on your head. So do not fear.
Reflection
God is so deeply invested in His creation that He even knows the number of hairs on each of our heads, your newborn’s as well. Our God is so good, loving, and caring that He cares immeasurably for us. All is well when we remember just who God is and how he loves us.
17.
He supplies life and breath and all things to every living being. He doesn’t lack a thing that we mortals could supply for him, for he has all things and everything he needs.
Reflection
According to Colossians 1:15-20, Jesus is the sustainer of the universe and everything in it. Each new life shows us the mercy and provision of Christ in our lives.
18.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Reflection
Remembering this verse is crucial for the success of any parent. There will be tough, scary, and long days. When in the midst of a sleep regression, temper tantrum, or even a diagnosis, remembering that God is not only with you and your child, but goes ahead of you. He is actually in the future. Living the truth of this Scripture can help bring peace and trust in times of uncertainty and difficulty that comes with any child.
19.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Reflection
Jesus’ invitation here is to take whatever burden you have and replace it with His way of life. This way of life is filled with joy, love, faithfulness, goodness, self-control, peace, patience, kindness, and gentleness. The journey of being a parent is an adventurous one, exciting and a bit scary. But you are not alone with this newborn baby. You have the King of kings with you to help you with anything and everything. Amen to that reality!
20.
May the Lord cause you to flourish, both you and your children.
Reflection
And finally, we end our Bible verse about babies with this beautiful blessing. May the Lord cause you and your baby to flourish. May you all know His love intimately all of your days. May this new adventure you are on be filled with God’s gracious Fruit. And may all that you do be done to the glory of God. Congrats on your new blessing, we rejoice with you!
